For hosts’ account details, we decide how the information is used. For guest details, the host decides whom to invite and what to enter, and we process that information for the host and on their instructions.

02What we keep about hosts

• Your account: name, email address, phone number if you give it, and a password stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, or your Google sign-in.
• Your party: the kind of party, the date, time and place, and the texts, theme, designs and photos you add.
• Your purchases: the plan and add-ons, receipts, and your acceptance of the refund terms at checkout. Card details are entered with the payment provider (Stripe or Tranzila) and never stored by us.
• Support messages, and conversations with our AI helper.

03What we keep about guests

Guest details are entered by the host, or by guests themselves when they reply:

• Names and household, and a phone number or email address if the host entered one.
• Replies: who’s coming, how many adults and children, and answers to the host’s questions.
• Children’s names and ages, only if the host or a parent chooses to give them. A head count is enough.
• Allergies and dietary needs, only if given. This may be health information, so it’s optional, shown only to the host, used only to plan the food, and deleted with the other guest details after the party.
• Whether a guest asked not to get messages.

04Children

• TheParty.day is for parents and other adults. Children can’t open accounts, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from a child. Replies are meant to be given by a parent or another adult.
• We ask for the least we need about children: a count is enough, and names, ages and allergies are optional.
• A photo of a child (for example, to make a cartoon of the birthday child) may be uploaded only by a parent or guardian, or with their permission.
• We never use children’s information for advertising or profiling.

05Messages and opting out

• Invitations and reminders are sent only when the host asks, and only to people the host knows. The host confirms they may message each guest.
• Messages to guests never contain advertising for TheParty.day.
• Automated messages go out only between 09:00 and 21:00 in each guest’s local time. Messages that would fall outside those hours wait until 09:00.
• Any guest can stop messages at any time: reply STOP to a WhatsApp or text message, or use the unsubscribe link in an email. That number or address goes on our opt-out list, and TheParty.day sends it no more automated messages. The host sees that the guest can’t be messaged.
• Messages are sent through WhatsApp (Meta), an SMS provider or our email provider, and are subject to those services’ rules.

06Photos and AI

• Photos you upload stay yours. We use them only to show your invitation and party page.
• Some features use AI, such as design suggestions or, when it launches, a cartoon made from a photo. The text or photo is sent to our AI provider only to produce the result.
• We don’t use your photos or texts to train AI models, and we choose providers that don’t use them to train theirs.

07Why we use information

• To provide the service: your invitation, party page, guest list and replies.
• To send invitations and reminders, only when the host asks.
• For support, security, fraud prevention, and records the law requires (such as invoices).
• For news about TheParty.day, only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

08Legal basis (EU and UK)

We use hosts’ information to provide the service you asked for (contract), for security, fraud prevention and record keeping (legitimate interests and legal obligations), and for marketing only with your consent. For guest details, the host decides the purpose, and we act for the host.

09Who we share it with

We never sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with providers that help us run the service, as far as needed and under confidentiality and security commitments:

• Hosting: Vercel. Database: Neon.
• Email: Resend. WhatsApp: Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform). Text messages: our SMS provider, when SMS is switched on.
• Payments: Stripe (dollars) and Tranzila (shekels).
• AI: Anthropic, and an image provider we’ll name here before photo features launch.
• Place search and maps: Google Maps Platform.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

10Where information is stored

Our providers store and process information in several countries, including the United States and the EU. When information leaves Israel, Canada, the EU or the UK, we use the safeguards those laws require, such as data protection terms with our providers.

11How long we keep it

• Your invitation and party page stay live until one month after the party. During that time you can download your guest list and replies.
• After that, guest details, including children’s details and allergies, are deleted or made anonymous within 30 days.
• Your account stays while you use it, and is deleted when you ask.
• Receipts and financial records are kept as tax law requires, up to seven years.

12Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as to object, to restrict how it’s used, to get a copy to take elsewhere, or to withdraw your consent. We reply within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied, you may complain to your privacy regulator: in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information); in the EU, your local data protection authority; in the UK, the ICO.

13Security

Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are stored only in scrambled form, and access is limited by role and logged. Each invitation link is unique to its household. We report serious security incidents as the law requires.

14Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language and currency, and statistics cookies only with your consent. We don’t use advertising cookies.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell hosts by email and in their dashboard before the change applies.
